There are trees that I've encountered again and again over the years, trees along trails I frequent or in places I come back to season after season. After his arrival at the end of September, this was my son's first time hiking with us. I used a front carrier, and he slept for the entire experience. I put down a lot of zinnia seeds last spring, but only one of them took. Fortunately, it grew to nearly five feet tall and put out more than a hundred flowers from August to early December.
